(Photo: AA) Jakarta (VNA) – Turkish Airlines is looking to increase the frequency of flights from Istanbul to Indonesia’s capital Jakarta, resort island Bali, and other cities in order to develop tourism. Chairperson of the carrier Ahmet Bolat said it currently runs 14 flights per week to Indonesia, of which nine are to Jakarta and five to Bali. The occupancy rate on each flight is 90%. The airline wants to increase flights to Jakarta to twice a day, and raises the frequency to Bali and, if possible, to some other locations in Indonesia, he said. Finland aims to attract high-quality human resources from Vietnam
Vietnam is one of the four countries from which Finland is aiming to attract high-skilled personnel through a talent-seeking program that has been introduced in Ho Chi Minh City. The Commercial Section of the Finnish Embassy in Vietnam held a conference on Tuesday in Ho Chi Minh City to debut the Talent Boost program, which helps seek high-quality human resources from Vietnam, as well as from Brazil, Turkey, and India. The program was presented by a Finnish delegation involved in education and work, including Laura Lindeman, senior director and head of work in the Finland Unit at Business Finland, a government organization for innovation funding and trade, travel and investment promotion. Under the program, Finland attracts talents from students to professionals such as doctors, nurses, information technology and clean engineers, and start-up entrepreneurs, Lindeman said. Vietnamese weightlifter breaks three world records
K'Duong and A Tieu are two Vietnamese competing in the men's 55kg weight category on Sunday. K'Duong registered 114 kg in the last lift, one kg more than the youth world record that he set at the Asian Youth Weightlifting Championship in July 2022. He succeeded and set a new record. A Tieu, 16, ranked second in the snatch event when he lifted 106 kg. In the clean and jerk event, K'Duong continued to dominate when he successfully started with 132 kg. He failed to lift 144 kg on the second turn. But in the last one, he successfully lifted 144 kg, one kg more than the record he set last year. The 17-year-old thus broke a third record for a total weight of 258 kg in the two events. He won three gold medals, while the runner-up Meetei Tomchou of India had a total weight of 234 kg and the Turkey’s Burak Aykun finished third with 227 kg.
