At least nine people were dead and 44 injured in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a government official said, after a magnitude 6.5 earthquake with its epicentre in Afghanistan struck late on Tuesday. At least 19 houses were partially damaged by the earthquake, Abdul Basit, a senior official in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government told Reuters on Wednesday. An earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale occurred 82 kilometers from Tuy Hoa City, south-central Phu Yen Province in the East Vietnam Sea on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Vietnam Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Center under the Institute of Geophysics. The quake hit at a depth of about 12 kilometers at 13°15'09'' North latitude and 110°14'06'' East longitude at around 4:37 pm (Hanoi time), posing no risk of disaster. Vietnam’s search and rescue in Turkey affirms its responsibility for international service
