Vietnam have advanced to the women’s football final at the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games by defeating Myanmar 1-0 at Cam Pha Stadium in northern Quang Ninh Province on Wednesday night. The hosts consecutively won the gold medal in the 2019 and 2017 tourneys while Myanmar claimed the bronze medal in those two editions. Hoang Nguyen Thanh took home the gold medal in men’s marathon at the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games on Thursday morning, the first-ever victory for Vietnam in the event. The marathoner finished the 42-kilometer race in two 2:25:7.84. Thanh’s gold medal is the 127th gold in Vietnam’s tally. On the same morning, Vo Xuan Vinh and Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuc claimed a gold medal in men’s and women’s 20km walk events, respectively. In the men’s 20km walk, the bronze medal also went to another Vietnamese athlete -- Nguyen Thanh Ngung. Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa earned a bronze medal for Vietnam in the women’s marathon event, which is also her debut competition at a SEA Games edition.
