Viên fails to advance at World Swimming Champs

  Top female Vietnamese swimmer Nguyễn Thị Ánh Viên. — Photo plo.vn HÀ NỘI — The top female Vietnamese swimmer Nguyễn Thị Ánh Viên failed to advance from the qualifying round of the 200 metre individual medley at the ongoing 18th FINA World Championship in South Korea on Sunday. Viên finished with a time of 2:17.79 to rank 26th out of 36 swimmers. This result left her 10.77 seconds behind Hungarian Katina Hosszu in first place. Viên’s performance during the event this year was also slower than her personal best which she achieved at the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, in which she beat two Chinese rivals to gain the gold medal with a time of 2:09.78. In the 400m freestyle, Viên also failed to reach the semi-finals after ranking 19th out of 43 swimmers with a time of 4:13.35. Pele’s last Brazil jersey sells for 30,000 euros in Italy

The last Brazil jersey won by football legend Pele sold at the Bolaffi auction house in Turin AFP/Marco BERTORELLO The three-time World Cup winner wore the jersey in a friendly against Yugoslavia at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro in July 1971, the last time he played for Brazil. Pele, 79, regarded as among the greatest footballers of all-time, scored 77 goals for Brazil in 92 appearances. The shirt was the highlight of objects which went under the hammer at the Bolaffi auction house in Turin on Thursday. Other sporting memorabilia included the yellow jersey won by Italian cycling star Fausto Coppi on his way to victory in the 1952 Tour de France, which sold for 25,000 euros. A rare blue Juventus jersey worn by Italian defender Luciano Spinosi in the final of the 1971 UEFA Cup sold for 9,400 euros. $14 million invested in start-ups at Techfest

Over 1.2 Million Unintended Pregnancies and Over 480,000 Unsafe Abortions Prevented Since July 2017KIGALI, RWANDA - Media OutReach - 13 November 2018 - A groundbreaking international report shows the use of modern contraception on the rise in Nepal, preventing over 1.2 million unintended pregnancies and 489,000 unsafe abortions between July 2017 and July 2018. The report shows Nepal is on track to achieve its goals for modern contraception use by 2020, as the Government boosts spending on family planning.  However, over one quarter of married women aged 15-49 in Nepal still have unmet need for modern contraception. OPEC agrees oil output cuts after much ‘brain squeezing’

It ended with a deal for a cut effective as of Jan 1 which sets an output target 1.7 million barrels per day lower than October 2018 levels, with Saudi Arabia and Russia making almost half the additional reductions between them. In a surprise move, the bloc also announced that several participating countries, "mainly Saudi Arabia", would make additional voluntary cuts bringing the overall cut to more than 2.1 million barrels per day. World oil prices surged in response, with US benchmark WTI and its European counterpart Brent both rising two percent in an initial reaction before settling down at levels around 1.3 per cent higher on the day in the late European afternoon.
