Photo dantri.vn HÀ NỘI — Swimming and taekwondo athletes brought two gold medals each for Việt Nam on the seventh day of the 30th Southest Asian Games on Saturday in the Philippines. Nguyễn Thị Ánh Viên won both the women's 400m freestyle and 100m backstroke events, defending her titles comfortably. The 23-year-old clocked 4min 13.20sec in the 400m freestyle. Gan Ching Hwee of Singapore and Natthanan Junkrajang from Thailand were second and third, respectively. In the latter race, Viên finished with a time of 1:02.97. Chloe Kennedy Anne Isleta and Jasmine Alkhaldi, both of the hosts, were the runners-up. Viên who is expected to win eight titles in this Games will take part in the 400m individual medley today. Just 20km from the Mỹ Sơn Sanctuary, the village with a population of 1,200 earned a living for three centuries from growing fruits, but now it's day-trippers who are bringing in the cash. VNS Photos Lý Ngọc Trâm by Lý Ngọc Trâm Memories are kept alive thanks to generations of photographers in Lai Xá Village, 15km west of Hà Nội. Established in 2017, Lai Xá Photography Museum is one of the first museums to feature a village’s traditional trade. The museum features 150 pictures, 25 articles and 15 display cases, containing over 100 artefacts, including machinery and equipment once used by the village photographers. The first floor of the museum contains a memory wall of Lai Xá’s martyrs who lost their lives during the war. Nguyễn Văn Thắng, director of the Museum, warmly welcomed visitors from Friends of Vietnam Heritage (FVH) on a Sunday afternoon.
