Speaking at a press conference to introduce the event in HCM City on December 20, VRA Vice Chairman cum Secretary General Vo Hoang An said the expo aims to support rubber businesses to seek cooperation and investment opportunities as well as expand export markets. The Rubber & Tyre VietNam 2017 is expected to welcome more than 80 businesses and around 2,000 visitors. On display are various rubber and tyre products, equipment and technologies. Vietnamese firms account for about half of the 500 participants this year, and their key products include tea, coffee, dried fruit and beer. Some new faces, including the trucking company Fuso Co. Ltd, Auphan Solfware and Long Hau industrial park, will introduce logistics services. The organising board said some veteran foreign participants, including those from Chinese Taiwan, Thailand, Poland and the Republic of Korea, wish to expand their display space. Airlines to offer more flights on Hanoi – HCM City route
National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific have reached a code-sharing agreement that aims to offer enhanced connectivity and seamless access for travelers on Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route. An American social-ecologist offered her insights into the effects of ocean pollution on fishing communities around the world, including Vietnam, during a panel discussion following a screening of environmental documentary ‘Trashed’ in Ho Chi Minh City on Monday afternoon. The American Center, run by the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, hosted a screening of the feature-length documentary followed by a panel discussion on December 9 as part of an effort to address the global challenge of saving the ailing oceans.
