A mother in Nam Dinh Province is in calling for support to treat her two children who both have cerebral palsy. Tran Thuy Loan and her daughter Tran Thuy Loan's son was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at only 7-months-old. For three years, she brought her son to various hospitals for treatment. Unfortunately, when her son's condition showed signs of improvement, her husband had brain cancer in 2014 and died in late 2020, leaving behind three children and a VND300m (USD13,000) debt. Loan's youngest daughter, Tran Tuong Vy, was born prematurely and also suffers from cerebral palsy. "Who wouldn't want their children to be healthy and pursue studying? Sun Taxi inks deal with VinFast for 3,000 EVs
Sun Taxi Joint Stock Company on Thursday entered into a deal with Vietnamese carmaker VinFast to order 3,000 VF 5 Plus electric cars to offer taxi services using electric vehicles (EVs), aside from the former’s current fleet of fuel-powered units. The move is part of Sun Taxi’s strategy on green transition, business expansion, and service quality enhancement, thereby promoting the switch to green transport and supporting Vietnam’s ambitious goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. Sun Taxi plans to first launch electric taxi services in some central and Central Highlands provinces and cities in the country such as Quang Binh, Hue, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Gia Lai, and Kon Tum. Lawmakers push government to utilize $42B in coffers
Lawmaker Ha Sy Dong, deputy chairman of Quang Tri Province, said Thursday that the large amount of cash should be used for key projects to strengthen the economy, instead of letting it stay idle. The government can also consider using it to lower interest on loans, he added. Another lawmaker, Tran Anh Tuan, said earlier that the idle cash should be used to support workers by building them housing and creating new jobs. But Minister Ho Duc Phoc said that the sum of money had already been earmarked for many key national projects and therefore cannot be used for other purposes. The reason the money is unused for now is because of delays in disbursement, he added.
