Vietnam's emblem The Office of National Assembly (ONA) on January 31 launched the third phase of a programme to strengthen the capacity of people’s elected bodies in Viet Nam . The 7.5 million USD project, sponsored by the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the governments of Canada and Ireland , the Danish Trust Fund, the UK Department of International Development (DFID) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), will be carried out between 2008 and 2012. This phase will be beneficial to all provincial People’s Councils nationwide as an extension from 16 localities in the first and second phases. Australian barista contest found the winner
The competition, part of the Taste of Australia event, was organised by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) and supported by Vietnam’s Graduates from Australia Club (VGAC). It had two rounds – an online one held from May 12-June 4; and a final round held on June 25 in Ho Chi Minh City. All contestants registered for the online round submitted video clips with two cups with two different patterns from four subjects - Heart, Tulip, Rosetta and Swan. Brigade 955 tests its troops’ shooting ability
During the test, participating troops used the brigade’s allotted weapons to shoot down floating targets in both day and night time. Under the command of commanding officers, participating troops confidently shot down targets in the first round while ensuring absolute safety of personnel, weapons and equipment. The test was held to evaluate Brigade 955’s quality of training troops, the coordination among participating forces, and abilities of commanding officers at all levels. The event was also an opportunity for the unit to check the condition of weapons and equipment and troops’ skills. JICA ramps up private sector’s engagement in climate actions in Vietnam
Following the rising global momentum for implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and domestic policy direction towards carbon neutrality by 2050, the seminar gathered key policy makers from relevant ministries, leaders of business associations, key CEOs, managers and representatives from both foreign and domestic enterprises based in Vietnam. More than 100 participants engaged in a vigorous discussion on the private sector’s role in realizing the national climate change targets of Vietnam, including NDC by 2030 and the long-term carbon neutrality direction by 2050. Vietnam seeks stronger trade, education ties with U.K.

Top legislator arrives in Hanoi, concluding visits to Hungary, U.K.
