Quarter Dinh Thi Hao, Ha Thi Vui, Pham Thi Hue and Du Thi Bong finished third to earn a bronze in the women's coxless fours at the Fuyang Water Sports Centre, clocking 6min 52.35sec. The Vietnamese started in lane three and were in the leading group with China and Japan. They even went ahead to take lead in the middle of the race. However, China proved their power to finish first in a time of 6min 42.03sec. Japan passed Vietnam in the last metres for the second position at 6min 47.04sec. Some 20 Vietnamese journalists and officials partook in the training course from September 13 to September 22. This is the first visit to Bulgaria by a chairperson of the Vietnamese NA in 15 years, since the trip by then NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong in 2008. Researchers have discovered 16 new species of the elusive Loboscelidia, a type of parasitoid wasp, following a recent exploration in Vietnam that also uncovered their unique egg-burying behavior, according to ScienceDaily . The findings by scientists from Kyushu University in Japan and Vietnam’s National Museum of Nature were published in the European Journal of Taxonomy. Loboscelidia wasps are 2-5 mm in body length. The discovery has expanded the global count of the species by 30 percent to 67. While unnoticed by people, the wasps perform a vital function in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem. Assistant Professor Toshiharu Mita and Dr. Yu Hisasue of Kyushu University’s Faculty of Agriculture, together with Dr. Pham Hong Thai of the National Museum of Nature in Vietnam, conducted field surveys at six sites across the Southeast Asian country, setting traps and using nets to capture the tiny parasitoid wasps. For the first time, Vietnam's famous Dong Ho folk paintings are appreciated in a new language: ballet. The ballet titled "Dong Ho", inspired by the famous Vietnamese folk painting will be performed on the evening of March 22 and 23 at the Hanoi Opera House, according to Vietnam National Opera & Ballet.
