Though China added Vietnam to its list of approved countries for group tours on March 15, flights carrying groups of Chinese tourists to Khanh Hoa Province in the south-central region will not resume until March 26, according to Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company. Accordingly, low-cost air carrier Vietjet Air will run about 34 round-trip flights between China and Khanh Hoa from March 26 to March 31. While China Southern Airlines has plans to reopen an air route connecting China with Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa on March 26 with one daily flight, the frequency will float between 25 and 30 daily international flights from mid-April 2023 onward. HCM City looking to recover int’l tourist market
The city’s tourism sector began to prosper following the Government’s decision to reopen borders and welcome international visitors from March 15, 2022. It welcomed nearly 3.5 million foreign visitors last year and over 31.5 million domestic travellers. Total tourism revenue exceeded 130 trillion VND (equivalent to over 5.5 billion USD) for the year. Despite this recovery and the city proving to be among the most popular destinations nationwide, there remain a host of concerns. Despite these obstacles, HCM City is maximising efforts to recover the international tourist market. The city is focusing on investment to create new tourism offerings, upgrade tour packages, and promote tourism activities. Lang Son considers building four routes for panoramic geopark touring

Conference promotes tourism between Vietnamese and Chinese localities
At the conference, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh municipal Department of Tourism Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu said that Chinese tourists are key to Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam’s tourism sector. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, China ranked third among countries with the largest number of visitors to Ho Chi Minh City (more than 1.2 million people in 2019), accounting for more than 20% of the total number of Chinese tourists to Vietnam.
