Since reopening its doors to tourists on March 15, 2022, Hanoi has implemented a number of measures to attract more holidaymakers both at home and abroad. The Hanoi Department of Tourism has certified 29 food service establishments, 51 shopping establishments, nine entertainment establishments, and one sports establishment. More than 170 activities, including significant cultural and tourism events, have been held. Additionally, Hanoi has recognized over 2,000 products under the One Commune-One Product (OCOP) programme, accounting for approximately 22% of the country’s total OCOP products. Hanoi works harder to promote domestic tourism market

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi's tourism sector is working harder to promote the domestic market besides attracting international tourists to the capital city. The municipal Department of Tourism said travel management agencies and firms have rolled out activities to boost the sale of made-in-Vietnam products and local specialties through tourism. Hanoi hit 18.9 million in the first nine months of 2023, up 36.5% year-on-year, reported the municipal Department of Tourism. Of the figure, foreign tourist arrivals reached 3.2 million, marking a four-fold increase compared to the same period of last year and surpassing this year's target of 3 million, while the number of domestic visitors rose by 20.2% year on year to 15.7 million. Hanoi to host Autumn Festival in late September
At a press briefing for the event on September 20, Nguyen Mai Anh, deputy director of Hanoi Centre for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion (HPA), which is hosting the event, said, “The festival aims to promote Hanoi as a tourist destination and showcase the city's unique culture and cuisine.” The event is expected to host representatives from 14 different cities and provinces, all seeking to promote their own tourism products and services, including Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, and Ninh Binh. OCOP products, traditional handicrafts, and processed foods will be on display at the Hanoi Agricultural Products Festival in Soc Son District. The Hanoi Agricultural Products Festival 2023 will be held in Soc Son District from September 28 to October 1.
