Over VND96 trillion of G-bonds mobilised The State Treasury of Viet Nam has raised a total of VND96.251 trillion (US$4.13 billion) via auctions of Government bonds at the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX) since the beginning of the year. At an auction this week, the State Treasury mobilised VND3.95 trillion from five-year and seven-year bonds worth VND500 billion each and 10-year bonds and 15-year bonds worth VND2 trillion each. The interest rate of bonds increased slightly. Bonds with 10-year maturity raised VND1.55 trillion with an annual interest rate of 4.53 per cent, up 0.03 percentage points from the previous auction on August 1. A sub-session auction of 10-year bonds drew VND600 billion with the yearly interest rate of 4.53 percent. Those with a 15-year term attracted VND1.2 trillion with an annual interest rate of 4.81 per cent, up 0.03 percentage points in comparison with the rate of the previous auction on July 25, 2018. The Hanoitimes - The plan to turn Hanoi into a smart city has been carried out for a while. On 17/5, Hanoi leaders had a meeting with representatives from 18 U.S corporations to discuss on the same issue. The conference “Cooperation to develop Hanoi as a smart city” took place on May 17 between Chairman of Hanoi’s People Committee Nguyen Duc Chung and representatives from 18 U.S enterprises in related area. Kien Giang to boost shrimp production in 2017 It includes 16,240 tonnes from industrial and semi-industrial farming, 40,838 tonnes from shrimp-rice farming and 5,922 tonnes from improved-extensive farming. Three main varieties are farmed: black-tiger shrimp, white-legged shrimp and blue-clawed prawn. Nguyen Van Tam, director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said the department has directed local authorities to monitor shrimp farming to ensure shrimp diseases remain under control. Relevant agencies and local authorities should closely follow the environmental situation to take proactive measures in case of saline intrusion during the ongoing dry season, he said. One more Tan Son Nhat airport bus service launched Southern Airport Transportation Joint Stock Company (SATSCO) on May 19 launched Bus Route No. 49 using high-quality automobiles to shuttle passengers between Tan Son Nhat airport and downtown HCMC. Buses ply SATSCO's second such route from 5 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. and depart from the airport and the downtown every 15 to 30 minutes. The traveling time of the new shuttle bus service is 30 to 40 minutes, and fares cost VND40,000 per passenger. Yellow buses of the new route will stop at major hotels, the Notre Dame Cathedral, and the HCMC Opera House in the center of the city, instead of using public bus stops. SATSCO is working on a plan to develop more five-star bus services with free wifi and staff able to communicate in English.
