Australian PM tries Hanoi draft beer during visit to Vietnam
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese spent time visiting a local beer spot in Hanoi to enjoy bia hoi (light Vietnamese draft beer) after he arrived in the Vietnamese capital city on Saturday afternoon. PM Albanese joined a crowd at a draft beer spot on Duong Thanh Street, Hoan Kiem District to drink ice-cold draft beer and have lunch there. The Australian leader sat at the same table as that of Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Nguyen Tat Thanh and Director of the State Protocol Department Nguyen Viet Dung. The Hanoi Technology Exchange's development aims to connect with the national technology exchange and technology centers worldwide. The construction and operation of the Hanoi Technology Exchange must be completed this year, the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology has been urged. Camping at an untouched meadow in northern Vietnam
Bai Bui Meadow is in Khop Village, Lac Son District, Hoa Binh Province, approximately 140 km from Hanoi, spanning about 9 hectares at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level. According to Nguyen Duc Sam, a local resident who now works in tourism in the area, it was initially used by the local community as a grazing ground for cattle. However, with the local road renovation in 2022, the spot started drawing visitors. On May 13, Vu Minh Quang from Hanoi and his friends decided to camp overnight at the meadow after finding it online. Arriving at around 10 p.m., they could not fully appreciate the scenery due to the darkness, so set up camp and rested. Ministry must ‘manage’ Zalo, Telegram to protect users
Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung presented draft amendments to the Law on Telecommunications before the National Assembly on Friday, arguing that the existence of OTT services in Vietnam means that there must be questions raised regarding their management in order to ensure service quality, safety and security. The draft therefore entails stipulations on the management of telecom services, including data centers, said Hung. The measures and forms of approval also aim to encourage new services to develop, according to the minister. Hung said the development of new satellite technologies has necessitated the completion of management policies regarding trans-national, satellite telecom services in Vietnam, "in order to ensure users’ interests in Vietnam." "Sam Tran took me to a local spot in Hanoi today to try a couple of Vietnamese classics," Albanese wrote on his official Twitter account, mentioning Sam Tran, a Vietnamese chef with multiple years of working experience in Australia. Albanese bought banh mi (Vietnamese baguette) at a local food stall before visiting a bia hoi (larger) shop on Duong Thanh Street in Hoan Kiem District. During his 40-minute lunch break, he enjoyed peanuts, roasted pork, fish cakes and tofu. He said 99% of the beer in Vietnam is made with Australian barley, and many baguettes are made with Australia's wheat as well.
