Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen greeted Margaret Beazley, governor of Australia’s New South Wales, on Tuesday on the former’s working visit to the city to boost two-way partnership. New South Wales is Australia’s most populous state. Some 10,000 Vietnamese students are studying in New South Wales, whose capital city is Sydney. Oil paintings showcase Ho Chi Minh City lifestyle
Artist Ngo Dong drew the scenes in the early morning in 2020 at Tao Dan Park, District 1. This is one among over 80 works by the artist displayed at the “Hien Thuc Da Chieu” (Multi-dimensional Reality) exhibition at the HCMC Museum of Fine Arts on May 20-30. The majority of the paintings are about life in the southern city where the artist has lived for more than 40 years. His painting “Nang Mai Trong Pho” (Early Sunlight On The Streets) was drawn in 2020. After realizing that his life has become more beautiful and tranquil 15 years ago, he switched from his initial style of surrealism to realism. “I threw all of my surrealist paintings away, except for those that were sold. I find myself best expressed through realism inspired by real lives,” he said. Vietnam PM meets Ukraine President Zelensky on G7 summit sidelines
Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for a little while at a session of the Group of Seven (G7) countries summit in Japan’s Hiroshima on Sunday. The meeting took place at the G7 session themed ‘Toward a Peaceful, Stable, and Prosperous World,' according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. PM Chinh at the meeting stressed that Vietnam attaches great importance to its traditional friendship with Ukraine.
