It will offer high-end testing, diagnosis and treatment of blood diseases. The VNĐ 1 trillion (US$43.2 million) 300-bed hospital is equipped with state-of-the art facilities and equipment. Speaking at the opening ceremony on May 19, director Dr. Phù Chí Dũng said the newly-inaugurated hospital would take over the examination and treatment services provided by the old hospital in District 1. It would help reduce the patient overload that the old hospital at Phạm Viết Chánh Street in District 1 had suffered for a long time and improve the quality of examination and treatment, Dũng said. The meeting aimed to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the Truong Son – Ho Chi Minh Trail and the Foundation Day of the Truong Son Army Corps (May 19, 1959-2022). At the working session, Senior Colonel Nguyen Huu Ngoc, Commander of Army Corps 12 shared that Army Corps 12 is the successor of Corps 559 – Truong Son soldiers. During the 16-year struggle against the U.S imperialists, Truong Son soldiers, together with volunteer youths and the front-line conscripted laborers, overcame numerous difficulties and hardships to build the legendary Truong Son Trail, contributing to liberating the South and unifying the nation.
