According to the initial information, the reason for accident was started by the driver of a container truck who could not control the speed and crashed into a 4-seater car ahead and continued to collide with a 16-seater passenger coach. The accident caused wrecks and damaged automobiles at the scene; and many people were taken to the hospital. After receiving the information, the functional forces quickly cames to the scene to regulate the traffic; however, until 10 p.m., the traffic situation through the area was still congested. HCMC to start test run of Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro line in early 2024
The municipal Department of Construction has recently provided the public with detail information about the progress of several key projects in the city as of late July. Nearly 90% of the work of the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro line have been completed, it said, adding contractors are also striving to complete construction at the end of 2023, or the beginning of 2024. VEC proposes to expand HCMC-Long Thanh expressway in advance of 2025
The traffic volume on Ho Chi Minh City- Long Thanh- Dau Giay expressway increased by an average of 10 percent a year. According to the MoT, after the Ho Chi Minh City- Long Thanh- Dau Giay expressway was put into exploitation, the traffic volume passing through the expressway increased by an average of 10 percent a year. Currently, the flow of vehicles through the section from the An Phu intersection in Ho Chi Minh City to the Long Thanh intersection exceeds the road's capacity. The ACV said that the piling work for the passenger terminal, the most important work of the Long Thanh Airport project, is completed one month ahead of the schedule, and more than 14 million cu.m of soil has been dug, filled and leveled. Police probing suspected alcohol poisoning that killed two in Ho Chi Minh City
Police in Ho Chi Minh City have launched an investigation into a suspected case of methanol poisoning that occurred at a local restaurant, affecting eight young people, of whom two died, officers said on Saturday. Among the eight victims, six are employees of Mr Bao Restaurant in Thu Duc City, including a woman, while the other two are outsiders, both female, local police said. These victims, aged 19 to 24, opened a party at the restaurant late on Wednesday evening, after the facility closed, N.D.B., the owner, reported on Saturday. They ate food bought from outside and drank a can of five liters of alcohol available at the restaurant during the feast which ended at 4:00 am the next morning. Another doctor attacked at Ho Chi Minh City hospital
A doctor at the emergency department of a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City was recently attacked by a family member of a patient, just about 10 days after another medical practitioner at the same facility was assaulted. Police in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City confirmed on Saturday they were working with 29-year-old V.H.H. to verify his alleged attack on a doctor at Gia Dinh People’s Hospital. H. said he took his mother, who suffered severe respiratory failure, to the infirmary’s emergency department at around 6:00 am on the same day. Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway project restarts in third quarter
According to the Ministry of Transport, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway construction project is invested by the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC). The project has a total length of 57.8 kilometers, passing through Long An, Ho Chi Minh City, and Dong Nai provinces. The project's total investment is VND31.32 trillion, using loans from the Asian Development Bank, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and domestic reciprocal funds. According to the original plan, the project would be carried out from 2014 to 2019. However, during the implementation process, some mechanism and policy changes caused the project not to be allocated capital and have to halt construction from 2019.
