In his remarks, Ngo Sy Anh, General Manager of Vietnam Airlines branch in Japan, affirmed the importance of the Japanese market to the company. Before the pandemic, the airline ran 68 flights every week to connect four major cities of Japan to Vietnam’s Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. In 2019, it carried 1.6 million passengers on these routes. With the Vietnamese Government deciding to resume regular international flights from January 1 last year, Vietnam Airlines is now operating 42 flights linking the countries. At the event, participating Vietnamese travel, accommodation companies and carriers introduced Vietnam’s potential and attractive sites to their Japanese peers. Corporate bond issuance surges in March after prolonged inactivity

Data on the Hanoi Stock Exchange showed as of March 24, eight companies issued bonds worth more than 23.8 trillion VND (over 1 billion USD), of which real estate firms dominated the market with total issued value of 19 trillion VND, accounting for 80% of total value. Vietnam’s internet ranking rises despite cable disruptions
Illustrative image (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - February's Speedtest Global Index (SGI) showed that Vietnam jumped up six places to 39th in fixed broadband speeds, despite recent disruptions to all five of its submarine internet cables suffering outages. However, the country’s mobile internet speed slipped by nine ranks to 52. The average download speed of the country’s fixed broadband is 91.6 Mbps, while the upload speed is 93.38 Mbps. These figures for the mobile internet speed are 42.67 Mbps and 18.27 Mbps, respectively. Vietnam’s internet speeds are also higher than the global average, with a download speed of 39.77 Mbps and an upload speed of 10.18 Mbps for mobile internet. The global performance in fixed broadband download and upload speeds are 78.62 Mbps and 34.39 Mbps, respectively. Young peacekeepers in Abyei conduct social activities
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Tuyen, Political Officer of the first Engineering Company, the unit has completed the construction of a house to present to an immigrant family in Abyei as a gift. The nine-member family has immigrated to Abyei and lived in a 5-6sq.m tattered tent around 300m from the company’s barracks. The Standing Committee of the Youth Union Chapter has mobilized all members to build the house from used materials to help the family soon stabilize their lives. With high determination and efforts, youths of Engineering Company Rotation 1 completed the 40sq.m house after two weeks and handed over to the family. Deputy defense minister presents gifts to Lao people
Phathi is a cluster of villages that has received significant investment from the Government of Vietnam since 2009 to build essential infrastructure projects such as roads, clean water systems, schools, clinics, cultural centers, and agricultural extension programs. However, due to the lack of funds for maintenance and repairs, a number of construction items have deteriorated over time. To address this, the Vietnamese and Lao Ministries of National Defense recently received approval from the Prime Ministers of the two countries to support the maintenance, repairs, and upgrade of essential infrastructure works, particularly the clean water supply systems and school sites.
