Two models strut the floating runway last Saturday for designer Vu Ngoc & Son. Models Minh Tu and Kim Duyen don outfits from the "Peaceful Sky" collection featuring floral designs around the shoulder and hips. Designer Vu Ngoc Tu said that to build the floating catwalk, the team had to hire local workers with knowledge of the Hoai River's tides and currents to ensure the water only flooded past the models' ankles. The two models then strode along the 150-meter Bach Dang Street. Models Vo Hoang Yen, Tran Tieu Vy, Vu Thu Phuong appear as vedettes with 3D-effect pleat dresses in the second part of the show. Construction of $103mn domestic terminal proposed for airport in northern Vietnam
The Ministry of Planning and Investment has proposed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh approve a VND2.4 trillion (US$103.4 million) fund for the construction of Terminal 2 at Cat Bi International Airport in the northern Vietnamese city of Hai Phong. The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) will take charge of the funding, according to the planning ministry’s proposal. Terminal 2 would have a designed capacity of five million passengers per year and a duration of 50 years. The construction of the project, which also includes some other auxiliary works, is expected to last 18 months from the completion of site clearance that the planning ministry has assigned to the People’s Committee of Hai Phong. Balked landing worries passengers on flight from Malaysia to central Vietnam
A flight from Malaysia which was about to land on the runway of Da Nang International Airport in the namesake Vietnamese city suddenly took off again, causing panic among the passengers on Friday afternoon. Flight AK648 departed from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at 10:30 am and arrived at Da Nang City at 12:15 pm on the day, according to its passengers' accounts. While reaching the runway, the plane floated a little, but did not touch down. Instead, it spooled up to takeoff thrust and quickly climbed away from the runway. Deputy PM urges faster progress of Long Thanh International Airport project

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) - To keep Long Thanh International Airport project on schedule, the Government has established an inter-disciplinary working team of officials from the Ministries of Transport, and Construction and a deputy minister of transport will visit the construction site weekly to push the pace of the project. These new measures were announced at a meeting held on June 14 chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh, who is also head of the project's steering committee. Thanh said the steering committee will convene every month to review the progress of the project.
