At the workshop (Source: VNA) Kien Giang (VNA) – How to improve coverage of Party building work was the main theme of a workshop held by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and Department of Information and Communications of the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang on April 12. VNA Deputy General Director Le Quoc Minh said journalists and press agencies should be aware that the coverage of Party building work should direct the flow of information and public opinion on new matters as well as issues of public concern such as the fight against corruption, wastefulness and other bad deeds. Nominations for Bui Xuan Phai – Love for Hanoi Awards announced
Renowned painter Bui Xuan Phai (Photo coutersy of Bui Xuan Phai's family ) Hanoi (VNA) – The The Thao & Van Hoa (Sports and Culture) daily of the Vietnam News Agency on August 5 announced ten nominations for the 12th “Bui Xuan Phai: For Love of Hanoi” Awards. The awards were initiated in 2008 by the The Thao & Van Hoa daily and Bui Xuan Phai’s family. The awards have been organised annually by the Hanoi People’s Committee and sponsored by the The Thao & Van Hoa newspaper and Bui Xuan Phai Fund to honour painter Bui Xuan Phai (1920-1988), a founder of modern art in Vietnam. Cyber security experts have advised users not to share private information on social media networks. (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) - Cyber security experts have advised users not to share private information on social media networks in light of a recent incident in which some 50 million Facebook users’ information was collected without their consent. The internet giant maintains that technically no hacking or security breach took place as the information was collected by a third party app disguised as a personality quiz. While users taking the quiz were asked to provide their information, the app went on to collect details about their Facebook friends without their knowledge. Speaking to the Vietnam News Agency, Vo Do Thang, Director of the Athena cyber management and security centre, said while there may not have been a breach, social media users must remain vigilant in protecting their data.
