Mekong Delta develops more OCOP products

Launched in 2018, the OCOP programme focuses on developing specialty products and high-quality products in rural areas to increase incomes for locals and boost the sustainability of economic development in rural areas. OCOP products are commercial products and services such as food and beverages, handicrafts and rural tourism services. They are classified as having one to five stars. An art performance at the festival (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) - A festival was held at the Dong Da Culture Park in Hanoi on January 26 (the fifth day of the first lunar month) to mark the 234th anniversary of the Ngoc Hoi-Dong Da victory over Chinese invaders. In 1789, under the leadership of Emperor Quang Trung (also known as national hero Nguyen Hue), Tay Son troops defeated 290,000 Qing invaders, liberating the imperial city of Thang Long and regaining national independence and freedom. Since then, the fifth day of the first lunar month has become the traditional day marking the historic victory. The Ngoc Hoi–Dong Da victory has also gone down in Vietnamese history as an immortal and epic struggle for national construction and defence. As a result, Vietnam’s tourism needs to quickly work out harmonious measures for the coming period of recovery. A sad economic year for the tourism sector has come to an end after many tremors caused by successive outbreaks of COVID-19 . Vietnam’s green economy in 2021 failed to recover as seen through the statistics of the yearly review, yet many experts still believe that in 2022, accelerations will be created with attention and assistance from the government. Hau Giang approves $23.6m seafood feed plant
A Sunjin Vina Co plant in Ha Nam Province. — Photo danviet.vn South Korea-invested Sunjin Vina Co has received a licence from Hau Giang Industrial Zones (IZ) Management Board to develop a seafood feed plant in the province's Tan Phu Thanh Industrial Zone (IZ). The 2.6ha-plant, expected to cost US$23.6 million, will produce 126,000 tonnes of fish and shrimp feed products annually, the Vietnam Investment Review has reported. The plant's first phase is slated for completion in May 2024. Head of the board Tran Ngoc Hung described the plant's investment licence as a good start to the year for the province and the investor. He said his board would create all the most favourable conditions for the investor while coordinating with relevant departments to solve difficulties promptly, so that it could soon put the project into operation.
