Tan Son Nhat International Airport will have another terminal for domestic and international passengers. This is among contents of the airport’s expansion plan by 2030 approved by the Ministry of Transport recently. Tan Son Nhat International Airport The plan is expected to cost some VND18 trillion (USD775.4 million). The airport will be expanded to 791 hectares. Meanwhile, Terminal 3 with an annual capacity of 20 million passengers, will be built at the southern end of the airport, where the current domestic and international terminals of the airport are located. Under the plan, the number of parking areas will be raised to 106 from the current 56. The Hanoitimes - According to a decision by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), runway 25R/07L of the Tan Son Nhat International Airport will be closed for repairs at two places spanning a total area of about 10 square metres damaged by lightning. The temporary shutdown will begin at 0:01 am of July 16 and last until 23:59 pm of July 19. The CAAV asked the Airports Corporation of Vietnam to enhance inspections and closely coordinate with the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation to ensure flight safety and aviation operations during the closure.
