An investigation into the Ho Chi Minh City department of education has shown that the organization sent the wife of the departmental director to an overseas training program against regulations in 2018. The municipal inspectorate received an anonymous letter of denunciation about the case in November 2018 and recently finished verifying the claims in the document. The accusers claimed to be a group of headmasters in Ho Chi Minh City, stating that the municipal Department of Education and Training had not been transparent in selecting people for a training course in Germany last year. The criteria for the selection were not clear, they explained. The inspectors eventually concluded that the denunciation was based on legitimate grounds, adding that the education department did commit “errors” in their process. Three family members died while another is in a critical condition due to suspected asphyxiation at their tenanted home in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday. A source close to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper confirmed on the same day that the municipal Department of Public Security was coordinating with Thu Duc City police in investigating the reason behind the deaths. Preliminary information showed that residents on No. 6 Street in Hiep Binh Phuoc Ward, Thu Duc City discovered a married couple and their two children lying unconscious at their rented house on Wednesday morning. Strict visa policies hinder international guests from visiting Vietnam
Because of strict visa policies, promotions to attract international tourists have not been as effective as expected, according to many businesses. Enterprises have made huge investments to welcome back tourists, but such illogical visa policies may slow down the tourism recovery pace. Being confused and facing difficulties Many travel companies in Da Nang City told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that visa policies for foreign tourists were still their biggest concern. Before the COVID-19 outbreak, Vietnam offered the visa waiver policy for citizens of many countries and the normal visa approval period was three to five days (visas which were valid for 30 days).
