Hanoi selects final design of Tran Hung Dao Bridge
The bridge to be built on the Red River could become another icon of the capital city. The Hanoi's authority has sorted out the final design of the Tran Hung Dao Bridge spanning the Red River in Hanoi. Its curved lines resemble running waves. With a total length of about 5.5km, the bridge will connect the districts of Hoan Kiem and Hai Ba Trung with Long Bien District on the north bank of the Red River. She not only shows them how to use a needle and thread but also explains the meaning of each design and pattern. Her work contributes greatly to efforts to preserve the culture of her ethnic minority group . The Red Dao are a subgroup of the Dao people, renowned for their colourful traditional costumes. On a background of black clothing, the Red Dao people use four main colours - red, yellow, blue and white - to decorate their outfits. Materials include brocade and satin, with motifs close to nature. On shirts is a row of rectangular silver buttons, and engraved on the buttons is the sign of Heaven. Hanoi finalizes curvaceous design for new Red River bridge
The design won first place in a contest held by the Hanoi management board for traffic structure investment projects and the Vietnam Association of Architects in October 2021, Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, chairman of the Hanoi People's Council, said Tuesday. The main bridge will be 900 meters long. The entire length of the bridge and its accompanying roads that will run through Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung and Long Bien districts will be 5.5 km. The contest winners said their design blends tradition with modernity. Outside the dome-like structure that will house six lanes – three in each direction, there will be pedestrian lanes. Workshop seeks to promote responsible tourism and wildlife conservation
The event, which was organized by World Wide Fund for Nature in Vietnam in coordination with Hanoi’s Department of Tourism and Hanoi Tourism Association, aims to provide knowledge about responsible tourism and wildlife conservation for 150 tour guides and travel operators. Vietnam currently has 33 national parks, 57 nature reserves, 13 habitat conservation areas, 53 landscape protection zones and 9 biosphere reserves. Participants were provided with information that was expected to help identify risks related to brokering and trading wildlife products. Some good models and lessons on responsible tourism associated with nature and wildlife preservation in the world and Vietnam were also shared at the workshop, thereby helping to change travelers’ behaviors and refrain from buying or selling products from endangered species.
