Nguyen Gia Liem, deputy director of the Department of Overseas Labour told a workshop on Vietnam’s labour export held in Quang Ninh province on October 4 that Japan in particular was the market of greatest potential for Vietnamese workers. “Japan doesn’t only pay well but also is a market of cutting-edge science and technology with highly skilled labour,” Nghiem said. On the occasion, devices and documents for book-reading activity were also presented to 10 schools in the locality. At the ceremony, Deputy Director of the provincial department Trinh Dinh Duong spoke highly of the role of books and affirmed that the library will help teachers and students acquire knowledge, thus improving their studies. (Photo: FLC Group) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s newest carrier Bamboo Airways has said it will launch a direct air route connecting capitals of Vietnam and the Czech Republic in the first quarter of 2020. The airline plans to operate three round-trip flights per week between Hanoi and Prague, using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. A representative from Bamboo Airways said the Czech Republic in particular and the European countries in general are key markets of the airline. It plans to create resort travel packages for European travelers and expects that by 2021-2025, Bamboo Airways' routes will cover all political and tourism centres in Europe. (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Japan remained the largest market for Vietnamese guest workers in the first nine months of 2019, according to the Department of Overseas Labour under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA). In January-September, the total number of Vietnamese employees working abroad was 104,615, including 35,815 female workers, reaching 87.2 percent of the yearly target. Japan received the largest number of Vietnamese workers with 53,610, including 20,250 females, followed by China’s Taiwan 41,174, the Republic of Korea 5,898, Romania 1,103, Saudi Arabia 817, Macau 324, and Malaysia 304. The national carrier is allowed to operate flights between Viet Nam’s Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi and the U.S. cities of Los Angeles, San Francisco (California); New York (New York), Seattle (Washington) and Dallas - Fort Worth (Texas). The transit flights will include stops in Taipei (Taiwan – China), Osaka and Nagoya (Japan).
