The Ministry of Information and Communications is developing a draft circular on mobile telecommunication network information services, reported the Vietnam News Agency. The circular, which amends Circular No 17/2016/TT-BTTTT, aims to tighten management over services that charge customers periodically. In this regard, VCCI said that operators should send notifications to users each time they renew their services. The notifications must include information on how to cancel the service so that users may cancel. Apple iPhone rollout marred by ‘bendgate,’ dropped cell service
Two new Apple products hit speed bumps on Wednesday: iPhone 6 Plus buyers discovered their phones can bend when placed in back pockets, and the company pulled its latest mobile operating system after reports of dropped cellular service. "Bendgate," as the problem has already been dubbed on social media sites, is a reminder of 2010's "antennagate," when iPhone 4 users reported a design flaw that caused dropped calls. Apple did not comment on the bending-phone reports. But it did announce that it was investigating reports of an issue with an update of its iOS 8 operating system and in the meantime had pulled the version designated 8.0.1. The phrase "Your pants are too tight for your phone" has already received hundreds of mentions. Google launches local service with free Zagat content
Google on Wednesday announced the launch of Google+ Local with free information from rating service Zagat. According to Google's official blog, local content, which can be accessed through the new "Local" tab on the left-hand side of Google+, is now integrated into search, maps and mobile. The local information includes photos, Zagat scores and summaries, reviews from people users know and other useful information. "Each place you see in Google+ Local will now be scored using Zagat's 30-point scale, which tells you all about the various aspects of a place so you can make the best decisions," Google explained in the post. For example, a restaurant that has great food but not great decor might be 4 stars, but with Zagat you'd see a 26 in Food and an 8 in Decor, and know that it might not be the best place for date night, it said. Meanwhile, the content on Zagat.com is now free, and users now are recommended to sign in with a Google+ account to register on Zagat.com.
