Tran Thu The Turkish agency launched the probe after Turkish enterprises filed a suit against polyester texturized yarn imports from a number of nations including Vietnam. They claimed that the imports sold at prices lower than normal levels had hurt Turkey’s producers. The directorate said it has begun an anti-dumping investigation into the product imported from Vietnam and some other countries after it collected sufficient evidence for the case. The Vietnam Competition Authority quoted data of the International Trade Center (ITC) on http://trademap.org and of Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) as saying that Vietnam’s exports of polyester texturized yarn to Turkey totaled around US$120 million a year in the past three years, equivalent to 20% of Turkey’s import value. China and India are the two biggest exporters of the product to Turkey. CAAV probes Vietnam Air emergency landingLe Anh By Le Anh - The Saigon Times Daily HCMC – The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has set up an investigation team to look into the emergency landing of Vietnam Airlines Flight VN1266 at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi Tuesday night. The group, led by CAAV’s deputy director general Do Quang Viet, will inspect the black boxes of the Airbus A321 plane with 135 passengers and seven crewmembers on board. En route from HCMC to Vinh City on the north-central coast, the plane was forced to divert to Noi Bai for landing. The aviation watchdog is keeping the black boxes of the aircraft for analysis and investigation. Both CAAV and the Ministry of Transport have ruled out security threats on the flight but declined to field any questions about whether the pilots of the plane mistakenly informed aviation authorities of an emergency for technical problems or aviation security threats. The EU is not only an important market for Vietnamese exporters but also a standard market for the global seafood industry. "Other international seafood importers are applying the quality criteria similar to the EU's," Thu said at a conference on Wednesday to brief local processors on the forthcoming EU inspection.
