Hanoi has drawn up a plan to train 14,720 workers in less than three months by 2023, including women, rural workers, people with disabilities, and young people doing their military service. The plan aims to help raise the proportion of educated workers to 73.2%, of which the share of workers with degrees and certificates will reach at least 52.5%. Accordingly, the Hanoi People’s Committee will support elementary-level training for eleven groups of workers in 78 occupations in the 2023-2025 period. Health authorities in Ho Chi Minh City have reported an additional 12,000 tuberculosis (TB) patients over the past three years, on top of its annual number of 17,000-18,000 TB cases, given the support of international healthcare organizations, especially the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The figures were revealed by Nguyen Huu Hung, deputy director of the municipal Department of Health, at a free-of-charge TB health screening event held on Saturday in District 5. More than $7.5 million in support for SMEs in Tra Vinh
The Steering Committee for SME Development Project in Tra Vinh Province held an annual meeting on Monday. — VNA/VNS Photo Since 2014, the SME Development Project in Tra Vinh, a province in the Mekong Delta, has benefitted over 30,500 businesses and more than 103,600 individuals. The project has increased the number of businesses by 200 per cent, business households by 133 per cent and created new jobs for about 23,000 workers. Tra Vinh SME project is supported by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) with a total investment capital of CAD$12.1 million, equivalent to over VND200 billion.
