Vietnam’s tourism industry loses US$23 billion because of COVID-19
The Vietnam National Administraiton of Tourism (VNAT) estimates that the number of foreign travelers to Vietnam has been 3.7 million this year, a sharp fall of 80% compared with 2019. The number of domestic travelers is predicted to decrease by 50% despite a lot of sale promotion programs. However, COVID-19 offers an opportunity to reconsider the tourism market structure. Vietnam relies heavily on the northeastern market (China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Taiwan) which brought 67% of total foreign travelers in 2019. In 2015-2019, Chinese and Korean travelers to Vietnam increased by 34%-40%. The two markets alone brought 10 million last year out of total 18 million foreign travelers. Meanwhile, travelers with high spending levels accounted for a small proportion. Travelers from European countries accounted for 12%, from the US 5.4%, and Oceania 2.4%. Leading industry figures seeks to restore international tourism market
Participants also focused on methods aimed at restructuring major segments of the tourism industry in Khanh Hoa province, ways of reopening international air routes next year, attracting additional international tourists to the locality based through digital platforms, and the application of information technological achievements. Representing the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Nguyen Quoc Hung said the COVID-19 epidemic has had an adverse impact on the local tourism industry, with the number of international visitors to the country during the first half of the year falling to 3.6 million, a decline of 55% in comparison to the same period last year. Hanoi seminar looks to reinforce tourism links with France

Hanoi: Exhibition of children’s paintings to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival
Fifty-eight colorful paintings expressing children's dreams for a better life are displayed at the Hanoi Museum. The exhibition, titled "The Colors," features 58 colored paintings on acrylic. These are the works of students from the Little Superman Art Club, which has been operating in Hanoi and neighboring provinces for nearly 10 years. The painting titled "My Childhood" by Nguyen Gia Han The exhibition will last until September 30 to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival 2023 in the capital. Life in the innocent eyes of children becomes beautiful, kind, and precious. Festival preserves values of Vietnamese craft villages
