Additional 1,179 Covid-19 infections announced on Monday
An additional 1,179 new Covid-19 infections were confirmed on Monday, raising the national tally to over 10.71 million, according to the Ministry of Health. According to the ministry's report, most of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 33 out of 63 localities in the country with some localities seeing the highest numbers including Hanoi (332), Vinh Phuc (75), Quang Tri (72), Yen Bai (60), and Quang Ninh (56). As of Monday evening, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to over 10.71 million. The country now stands 12th among 227 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections. On May 23, an additional 3,862 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to over 9.40 million. Thailand to lift COVID-19 curbs on nightlife from June

(Photo: VNA) Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand will allow nightclubs and karaoke bars to resume regular hours starting next month, ending most of its remaining pandemic restriction s as daily infection declines, according to the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA). Entertainment venues such as bars, pubs, karaoke clubs and other services may open until midnight after June, but these facilities should take a universal preventive approach, the CCSA said in an announcement on May 20. It said that their staff must have received booster shots and taken antigen tests every seven days. Starting on June 1, Thailand will also drop a requirement for unvaccinated travelers to quarantine.
