Six more Vietnamese companies have been allowed to export catfish to the US, according to the National Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department. In the first four months of this year, Vietnam’s catfish export value was estimated at USD950 million, up 94 percent on-year. China and the US were Vietnam’s biggest catfish importers during the period, accounting for 32 percent and 24.5 percent respectively of the country's total export value.
