(VOVworld) - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Washington on Monday to begin a 2-day visit to the US. White House spokesperson Josh Earnest said that during separate meetings with President Barack Obama and US Congressmen and other officials on Monday, Modi discussed ways to enhance the US-India strategic partnership, which Obama once predicted would be "one of the defining partnerships of the 21st century." The leaders will discuss ways to boost economic growth and security co-operation and to increase co-ordination on achieving long-term benefits for both countries and the world. Shell Exploration Company and Petromin PNG Holdings Limited announced on August 18 that they had signed a strategic alliance agreement. The two companies will pursue mutually beneficial upstream opportunities in Papua New Guinea and establish a long-term partnership in which Shell will contribute to capability building of Petromin. According to Joshua Kalinoe, CEO and managing director of Petromin, the company was very pleased to have signed the detailed alliance. "Agreement today which follows the memorandum of understanding signed earlier this year. Shell is recognised as a leader and world class operator in all areas of the upstream and LNG business, we are confident that this will be the start of a long and prosperous partnership," said Kalinoe. Vietnamese budget carrier VietJet Air and South Korean fast food giant Lotteria Vietnam are hoping to bring more added value to customers of both parties, following a major strategic agreement the companies signed Friday. The alliance will see the carrier supply its products and services through the fast food chain’s online channel, and vice versa, VietJet Air said in a press release the same day. The airline will also add Lotteria Vietnam products to its in-flight menu, which now includes nine dishes, for both domestic and international routes, whereas the South Korean company will introduce VietJet’s services through all of its global touch-points. The no-frills carrier has emblazoned an aircraft with Lotteria Vietnam’s logo to celebrate the new strategic partnership.
