VN-Index steadies after stormy week
The index closed 1.7% points higher. It has dropped nearly 39 points this week. Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), on which the index is based, fell 12% to VND13.96 trillion ($575.20 million). The VN30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, saw 10 tickers gained. VIC of private conglomerate Vingroup rose 4.1%, followed by BCM of Becamex Investment and Industrial Development with a 3.4% increase. VRE of retail real estate arm Vincom Retail rose 2.6% and VPB of private lender VPBank closed 2.4% higher. Fourteen blue chips fell. CTG of state-owned lender VietinBank lost 2.6% and SSI of leading brokerage SSI Securities Corporation dropped 1.5%. Foreign investors were net sellers to the tune of VND537 billion, mainly selling CTG and VCI of Viet Capital Securities. In the US, he also met with US Vice President Kamala Harris, leaders of the US Congress, the national security advisor, and several members of the US cabinet. He also visited the New York Stock Exchange where he knocked the gavel to open a trading session. Over 56,800 Vietnamese labourers sent abroad in 7 months
Vietnam sent over 56,800 labourers to work abroad in the first seven months of 2022 (Photo: VietnamPlus) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam sent over 56,800 workers, including 21,238 females, abroad to work under labour contracts over the first seven months of 2022, equivalent to 63.2 percent of the target set for the year. According to data from the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA), Japan, Taiwan (China) and the Republic of Korea (RoK) remained the largest recipients of Vietnamese labourers during the reviewed period. With the number of workers going to work abroad continuing to remain stable, Vietnam’s plan to send 90,000 labourers to work abroad this year is completely feasible, the ministry said. Prime Minister holds talks with Brazilian President
The two sides expressed their pleasure at growth in trade, with two-way trade value reaching nearly 6.8 billion USD in 2022 and nearly 3.3 billion USD in the first half of this year, affirming Brazil’s position as Vietnam’s leading and most promising partner in Latin America. The two sides agreed to raise two-way trade to 10 billion USD by 2025 and 15 billion USD by 2030. They also consented to continue promoting the beginning of negotiations over a free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Southern Common Market ( MERCOSUR ), to strengthen business, trade, and investment cooperation between Vietnam and MERCOSUR member countries. Vietnam looks to increase labour exports to Hungary

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam is speeding up negotiations with Hungary in a bid to sign an agreement on sending and receiving Vietnamese labourers in the European country – an emerging market drawing great interest from labourers. Statistics from the Department of Overseas Labour under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Vietnam has sent workers to Hungary since 2018. So far, more than 2,700 Vietnamese labourers have been dispatched to the market, with the number of workers increasing year on year, reaching 1,148 in the first nine months of 2023. The department has licenced 25 businesses to recruit and send Vietnamese labourers to Hungary. Vietnamese labourers have engaged in many sectors in Hungary, including construction, manufacturing-processing, wood processing, agriculture and hotel and restaurant services.
