100-pillar ancient house in Long An
Hanoi Times - Tourists going to the southern province of Long An should visit an ancient structure in Long Huu Dong commune, Can Duoc district, which is called Hundred-pillar house by locals. From HCM City, down National Highway 50 to Long An province, past Kinh Nuoc Man ferry around 3km, you will stand in front of a wood-made ancient house which has over 100 pillars. With a total area of 888sq.m, the house is located on grounds of nearly 5,000sq.m. The house consists of three compartments and two lean-tos, with 120 pillars, including 68 round and 52 square pillars. This house was built in five years, 1898-1903, with rare wood and set on a stone foundation of 0.9m high. The house is paved by brown, hexagonal bricks and roofed with double tiles. Hanoi to build 11 million square meters of housing area in 2018
The Hanoitimes - The Capital city targets to construct roughly 11 million square meters of housing area this year, according to the city’s Department of Construction. Among the total, 430,000 square meters will be social housing projects and 348,000 square meters will come from resettlement projects, while the rest will be commercial housing projects. The municipal department said it would initiate measures to remove obstacles and promote the development of the real estate market. It will also strive to create conditions for developers to diversify products as well as adjust the planning of scales of housing projects to meet the market demand.
