HÀ NỘI — The Australian-funded Gender Responsive Equitable Agriculture and Tourism (GREAT) programme hosted a symposium, Engaging Women in Markets – Scaling up Local Successes Nationwide, in Hà Nội on Friday. Throughout the day, the GREAT programme team and Government of Việt Nam representatives discussed evidence and lessons learned from the GREAT Programme that can help inform Việt Nam’s National Target Programmes (NTPs) implementation. The NTPs and GREAT both aspire to stronger socio-economic opportunities in Việt Nam’s northwest region, particularly for the ethnic communities that call the region home. Delegates at the grand opening ceremony of GO! Lao Cai. — VNS Photo Central Retail Viet Nam on Friday launched its GO! Mall on Urban Sub-area 13, Tran Hung Dao Street, Bac Lenh Ward, Lao Cai City. It is its 39th shopping centre in Viet Nam, but the first of its kind in the northwest area. The opening of GO! Lao Cai comes as the company celebrates its 10th anniversary in Viet Nam. Built on a total area of 30,000sq.m with an investment of VND300 billion (US$12.9 million), GO! Lao Cai is the largest and most modern shopping mall of Central Retail in Lao Cai. The mall is expected to provide a wide range of products from essential goods, and fast-moving consumer goods to household electrical appliances and entertainment services to meet local demands, from basic to high standards. Highlighting the flourishing Vietnam - RoK relations, the host leader said more than 200,000 Korean people are living in Vietnam while there are also roughly 200,000 Vietnamese people in the Northeast Asian nation at present. On that basis, he called on the association to carry out measures for promoting bilateral cooperation in multiple spheres.
