The scholarships are designed for young Government officials, aged from 24- 39, as of April 1, 2021, with the potential to make contributions to the country after graduation. JDS is a full scholarship covering tuition, airfare, monthly living allowance and other grants. The scholarship program was first employed in Vietnam in 2000 and has since provided 691 scholarships for Vietnamese officials. The JDS programme 2020 plans to receive a maximum of 60 top applicants for the master's course in the 2018-2021 period and three applicants for the PhD student course of term 2021-2024. The JDS 2020 will provide two-year master’s degrees in various areas, including economics, transport, urban development, energy, agriculture, the environment, law, and public administration for Vietnamese candidates in the 2021-2023 period.
