"Two Vietnamese males have been arrested by police of Mallorca Island over sexual assault allegations. One was born in 1980, the other in 1984," said a spokesman of the Mallorca police department. The spokesman however refused to provide their identities and occupations. The men’s identity and occupations were not revealed, but local reports said they were an actor and a musician. Tropical storm Chaba, the first storm to affect Vietnam this year, is gathering strength, with wind speeds near its centre reaching 89-102 kilometres per hour. According to the national weather service, the system was located at 400 kilometres east-southeast of China’s Hainan Island at 7am on July 1. Chaba is forecast to travel in a northwest direction for the next 24 hours at a speed of 15 kilometres per hour and is likely to strengthen further, packing winds of 103-117 kilometres per hour. At 7am on July 2, the tropical storm will be located about 370 kilometres east-southeast of Quang Ninh Province, before continuing northwest and to make landfall in the southeast of China’s Guangxi Province the following day. Authorities in Ho Chi Minh City have proposed the construction of a US$6 billion international transshipment port in outlying Can Gio District. The proposal was made by chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Phan Van Mai in his document sent to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Thursday. The investment into the port was originally suggested by MSC Group – the world's largest shipping group, Vietnam Maritime Corporation, and Saigon Port. The project is expected to have about 7.2 kilometers of wharves and cost approximately $6 billion. The port will be able to receive the world's largest container ship, which can carry 24,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) containers, while its capacity will be around 10-15 million TEUs. The implementation of the project will be divided into seven phases, with the developers hoping that the first phase will be initiated in 2024 and put into operation in 2027. About 76 percent of HIV infections recorded in Ho Chi Minh City in 2021 were among men who have sex with men (MSM), according to statistics from the municipal Department of Health. The number of HIV infections in the southern metropolis has been increasing, the health department stated, adding that there is a change in HIV-related risk behaviors. The number of new cases rose to nearly 4,500 in 2021 from about 2,000 in 2012. In the past, injecting drug users accounted for the majority of HIV cases in the city. However, MSM currently make up the highest ratio. About 76 percent of Ho Chi Minh City’s HIV infections in 2021 were recorded among this group. In a statement sent to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Thursday, HCMC Chairman Phan Van Mai said the city has received a proposal from Terminal Investment Limited (TIL), the second-largest container carrier in the world, to build the port in Can Gio. TIL, owned by Switzerland-based Mediterranean Shipping Company, has signed a framework agreement with HCMC on cooperation in the field of seaport infrastructure development and logistics services in the city. As proposed by TIL, the port in Can Gio will have a dock of more than seven kilometers long to receive 24,000-twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) containers, the world’s largest, with a throughput capacity of 10-15 million TEUs per year.
