Daikin to build air-conditioner plant in Hung Yen Hung Le HCMC - Japan’s Daikin Industries Ltd has decided to develop an air-conditioner assembly plant at Thang Long II Industrial Park (IP) in the northern province of Hung Yen. Daikin Air Conditioning Vietnam Joint Stock Company (JSC), a member of Daikin Industries, has clinched a deal with Thang Long II Industrial Park Co Ltd to lease 20,000 square meters of land to construct the factory. The project is estimated to cost 10 billion Japanese yen (US$96.3 million). The plant is scheduled to come online in April 2018 with an annual capacity of 500,000 units in 2018 and one million units by 2020. The investor plans to recruit about 500 employees in the first year of operation and will increase the number to 1,500 when the plant runs at full tilt.
