13 Vietnamese COVID-19 patients in Cambodia in stable health conditions

Measuring body temperature of a Cambodia n man (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Thirteen Vietnamese people in Cambodia infected by SARS-CoV-2 in the latest outbreak in the country are in stable health conditions, according to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang. Hang said that Vietnamese representative offices in Cambodia have contacted local authorities and authorised offices to verify information about the cases and request attention and treatment for the patients to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese citizens. Right after their infection was confirmed  the Vietnamese patients were brought to hospitals of the Cambodian Health Ministry in Phnom Penh capital city and Kandal province for quarantine and treatment. Vietnamese representative offices in Cambodia have also contacted the Vietnamese community and the Khmer-Vietnam Association in Cambodia to get updated information, while stepping up communication activities to persuade Vietnamese people and businesses to strictly follow disease prevention and control regulations in the host country. The citizen protection hotline of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia and the citizen protection call centre of the Foreign Ministry’s Consular Department are ready to receive any information about cases in need, the spokesperson affirmed./. Vietnam repatriates more than 13,000 citizens so far: Spokesperson

The Hanoitimes - The repatriation has started from April 10 and all returnees need to undergo mandatory quarantine upon arrival. Photo: Vietnam Airlines “As many as 13,323 returnees who were stranded in many countries and territories have been back to homeland on 55 repatriation flights since April 10,” Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said at a press conference on July 16. Hang said that since the spread of Covid-19 from the beginning of the year, many countries have imposed movement restrictions and suspended commercial flights, leaving a number of Vietnamese people stranded across the world. For that reason, Vietnamese authorities have cooperated with foreign countries’ agencies and airlines to make repatriation flights possible. The repatriation has closely followed requirements on temperature screening and mandatory quarantine, Hang said in a statement. Photo: MOFA Regarding cheats that may happen online to Vietnamese people who need to return home, the spokesperson said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Consular Department and overseas Vietnamese missions have publicized news and ticket buying procedures to provide official information on the repatriation. With the registration for flights home, authorized agencies have a list of people in deed and the authorities themselves email each person involved. “We advise Vietnamese people to closely follow instructions by the Vietnamese missions abroad and proceed with the ticket buying only when receiving email from those agencies,” Hang warned. COVID-19 testing offered to enlisted citizens

On February 24, the People's Committee of Can Tho City agreed to perform COVID-19 testing for young people joining military service in 2021. Citizens returning to Can Tho from the epidemic-risk areas in particular are offered PCR quick tests. Hanoi has finished testing for 3,659 citizens participating in military service and 854 citizens in police service (including the reserve force). The test samples have been sent to Hanoi Centre for Disease Control and the results will be announced on the afternoon of February 25.
