Vietjet Air to resume flights to Van Don airport from March 3

Vietjet aircraft (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Budget carrier Vietjet Air has announced that it will resume its flights to Van Don International Airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh from March 3 after the airport is allowed to reopen on March 2. The Van Don airport was temporarily shut down from January 29 after an airport security staff was confirmed positive for the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 that causes the COVID-19 pandemic. Vietjet Air ’s Flight VJ230 from Ho Chi Minh City will be the first to land at this airport on March 3 morning since the shutdown. The carrier plans to conduct four round-trip flights on the route each week in March. From February 27 to March 31, 2021, passengers buying tickets and flying with Vietjet Air across Vietnam will receive the special gift of 20kg checked baggage in addition with 7kg hand luggage completely for free. The special offer is for passengers booking tickets at least 3 hours before departure time on Vietjet Air's official sales channels at www.vietjetair.com, official Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/vietjetvietnam/, ticket offices and official agents, applying for all payment methods. The free checked baggage is immediately applied as customers choose to include a 20kg baggage package when booking on all domestic flight routes with the flight time from February 27, 2021 to April 25, 2021. Especially, passengers do not miss opportunities to fly and experience the new super convenient Deluxe fare type of Vietjet Air at an unprecedented attractive price from only 399,000 VND (17.25 USD). Finland helps Vietnam reduce risks in water supply and sanitation

The Hanoitimes - The Water Safety Plan (WSP), developed by Finland to reduce risks in water supply, has been piloted in Hai Phong and Da Nang cities, and Dong Nai province. A seminar on July 9 co-hosted by Vietnam and Finland in the framework of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) High-level Political Forum highlighted the importance of access to safe water and smooth water supply especially in urban areas. Illustrative image The event drew the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Construction’s Technical Infrastructure Agency, Finland’s Poyry Company and Aalto University, the World Health Organization, and many representatives from UN members. The Water Safety Plan (WSP), developed by Finland to reduce risks in water supply, has been piloted in Hai Phong and Da Nang cities, and Dong Nai province. The useful tool for ensuring safe drinking water has been adjusted to suit Vietnamese water plants and the country’s regulations. Many experts described this as a vivid illustration for the sounding public-private partnership with Finland in the research on water safety plan as recommended by the WHO. Vietnamese representatives affirmed that the pilot projects are in line with the water plants’ capacity, and the WSP helps the plants ensure steady operation as well as have effective measures to prevent and address interruption in the supplying system. Vietnam airlines to relaunch int’l flights from September 18

Photo: Vietjet Air Vietjet Air will resume regular flights to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan (China)  from September 29 with the frequency of one service per week for the routes of Ho Chi Minh City - Tokyo (Narita, Japan), Ho Chi Minh City - Seoul (Incheon, South Korea), Hanoi - Taipei (Taoyuan, Taiwan). Air passengers before boarding are required to have certificate of their negative status for Covid-19 issued within three days before the departure and comply with the safety screening measures of the host country. From September 18, Vietnam Airlines will relaunch its first regular international flights in months by conducting one-way flights from Vietnam to Japan. Flights from Hanoi to Narita Airport (Tokyo) depart at 11:45am on September 18, September 25, and September 30; from Ho Chi Minh City to Narita, at 0:00 on September 30 are by Boeing 787 wide-body aircraft. Air service to South Korea has also been resumed with one flight per week to Seoul. So far, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has only authorized air carriers to fly passengers out of the country. All returning flights will be empty with only cargo. For routes to Taiwan and Guangzhou (China), Vietnam Airlines is waiting for instructions from the airline authorities to make specific flight plans. Earlier, local authorities decided to reopen four international routes to/from Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (South Korea), Guangzhou (China) and Taipei (Taiwan, China), from September 15 and from September 22, flights to Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and Vientiane (Laos) will resume with a maximum frequency of two flights per week for Vietnamese airlines and their partners per route.
