Dozens of sculptures by 26 young artists are on display at the HCM City Fine Arts Museum. — Photo nhandan.org.vn Viet Nam News HCM CITY — More than 50 sculptures by 26 young artists from HCM City and Hà Nội are on display at an exhibition titled Điêu Khắc Sài Gòn-Hà Nội (Sài Gòn-Hà Nội Sculpture) at the HCM City Fine Arts Museum. The works are in wood, glass, stone, aluminium, stainless steel and other materials. Some are two or more metres high. Featured works made by Nguyễn Ngọc Lâm, Phạm Thái Bình and Trần Việt Hà symbolise hope for love and peace. Over 40 outstanding folk art works in 2018 honoured
The first prize went to the project “Hindu statue: From the Cham tower to the Vietnamese temple" of the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies brand under the Hue city’s Folk Arts Association. In addition, 11 second prizes, 25 third prizes and five consolation prizes were also presented. Earlier, the organising board received 67 works registered for the prizes in 2018 in five categories, including literature and theory of folklore; customary customs, festivals and addresses of folklore; culinary culture, traditional occupations and folk knowledge; folk shaping art; and folk performance arts. Hà Nội Museum showcases folk art exhibition
Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI - An exhibition of folk paintings originating from different regions of the country opened last week in Hà Nội. During the opening ceremony, artisans Nguyễn Đăng Chế, Nguyễn Đăng Giáp and Lê Đình Nghiên printed and presented Đông Hồ and Hàng Trống folk paintings for visitors. The event, a collaboration between the Hà Nội Museum and the Hà Nội Ceramics Museum, provides art lovers, history buffs and culture enthusiasts a look at paintings and sculptures that were created when few people had access to institutional learning and were generally self-taught.
