According to UNESCO Chief Representative in Vietnam Christian Manhart, during the UNESCO’s 41st General Assembly in Paris in November 2021, 193 members of the agency approved a resolution to celebrate the Vietnamese poet’s birthday in 2022. After suffering severe burns across his face as a child, Ngo Quy Hai, a 27-year-old from Vietnam’s Central Highlands, has managed to shed the physical and emotional burden of his injury and become the successful owner of Sunhouse Coffee – a well-known pastry shop in Plei Kan Town, Ngoc Hoi District, Kon Tum Province. Hai burned his face when he was just a few months old after falling out of a walker and landing face first on a boiling pot of porridge. His parents rushed him to Children’s Hospital No. 1 in Ho Chi Minh City where he received medical treatment for almost two years. While doctors at the hospital were able to save Hai’s life, his injuries left him so scary that other children refused to play with him. Emergency state of erosion in Hau riverbank in recent time On June 30, Chief of the Office of the Standing Steering Committee for Climate Exchange and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue of An Giang Province Luong Huy Khanh said that the provincial People’s Committee just signed a decision to announce an emergency state of erosion at two sections in Hau riverbank with a total length of over 800 meters. Dengue fever cases increased by 172.5 percent MD-Dr. Nguyen Van Vinh Chau, Deputy Director of the Department of Health of HCMC, informed that by June 29, the cumulative number of dengue cases in the city was 20,952, an increase of 172.5 percent compared to the same period last year, including ten deaths. Accordingly, a new decree, coded 38/2022/ND-CP, on raising the regional minimum wage for labourers will come into effect on July 1. The 6 percent increase is equivalent to a rise of 260,000 VND (11.20 USD) in Region 1, and 240,000 VND, 210,000 VND, and 180,000 VND in Regions 2, 3, and 4, respectively. The document to this effect also specifies that the minimum hourly wage will range from 15,600 to 22,500 VND, which also depends on the region. The geographical classification is determined based on the employer’s place of operation.
