This was the first of 15 secondary schools to receive the library by the year-end. A reading festival was also held at the event to encourage reading habits for more than 500 students. A smart library consists of four elements: selected books, hardware and facilities, library management software and training activities for library management. Samsung Hope Relay to raise VND1 billion for students By Quoc Hung in HCMC Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co. on Thursday announced ‘Samsung Hope Relay-One Running Step, One Future’ program that will take place on June 17 in Phu My Hung, District 7. The event will celebrate this month’s London Olympics with an aim to encourage locals to join sporting activities and create better values for the local community. Organizers expect 5,000 participants who will run four kilometers each with Samsung donating VND50,000 per kilometer to the ‘Intelligent Library’ program to help poor students in remote areas for an estimated total of VND1 billion. By Quoc Hung - The Saigon Times Daily HCMC - Samsung Vina Electronics has introduced its award-winning full High Definition (HD) 3D LED TVs including the slimmest LED C7000 and C8000 models, measuring just 23.9 to 26.9 mm, to consumers on the local market. The two products, which were unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in January, have already earned industry recognition, receiving the Best of CES and CES Innovation Honoree Awards. Customers will need 3D glasses and an infrared transmitter to watch the televisions. Samsung's 3D products all include the company's proprietary built-in 3D processor and emitter, enabling compatibility with multiple 3D standards including half and full HD resolution formats as well as the Blu-ray Disc Association approved Blu-ray 3D standard. Get cash when buying Samsung Wave S8500 phone By Thu Thuy in HCMC Home Credit Vietnam, the brand of PPF Finance Vietnam Co., and Samsung have launched a promotion for customers borrowing from Home Credit to buy a new Samsung S8500 Wave mobile phone. Customers who buy the phone during August-September under the promotion receive, instead, VND1.5 million in cash. The promotion applies at 29 shops selling mobile phones in HCMC, Hanoi and Danang Cities where Home Credit has placed booths.
