Three Vietnamese women named as elite FIFA referees
This represents the highest level of officiating, with elite FIFA referees being chosen to officiate important events, such as World Cup qualifiers, the AFC Champions League, and the Asian Cup. The three female referees acknowledged by FIFA include Cong Thi Dung, Bui Thi Thu Trang, and Le Thi Ly, in addition to three assistant referees, such as Truong Thi Le Trinh, Nguyen Thi Hang Nga, and Ha Thi Phuong, all of whom have been recognised by FIFA as making the Elite level. Among the officials, referees Thi Dung and Thu Trang, in addition to assistants Le Trinh and Thi Phuong, have plenty of experience after being in charge of matches at the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup in Jordan in 2016, in addition to the 18th Asian Games (ASIAD 18) held in Indonesia. Tourism fees to help insure foreign visitors
Bangkok (VNA) – The Thai National Tourism Policy Committee has approved the proposed guidelines for the collection of a 300 THB (10 USD) tourism fee from each international visitor for the management of local tourist destinations. The money will also be used to provide insurance benefits to international tourists visiting the country. Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said each foreign visitor will be charged 300 THB (10 USD) per visit. The details of the fee collection will be announced in the Royal Gazette once the policy has taken effect. According to Phiphat, Thailand expects to receive some 10 million visitors this year. He said the merit of the 300-THB tourism fee is that foreign tourists who fall sick or are injured will be taken care of and given adequate medical care, adding 34 THB of which is expected to be used for the insurance coverage. Jakarta (VNA) – At least seven people were killed and hundreds injured at a 6.2-magnitude earthquake which happened on Indonesia’s Sulawesi island early on January 15. Initial information from the country’s disaster mitigation agency showed that four people had died and 637 others were injured in Majene, while there were three fatalities and two dozen injured in the the neighbouring province of Mamuju. Thousands had fled their homes to seek safety when the quake hit just after 1 am local time on Friday morning, damaging at least 60 homes, the agency said. The epicentre of the quake was six kilometres northeast of Majene city at a depth of 10 kilometres.
