Leaders of the military-owned Viettel Group made the proposal at a Tuesday meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The proposal was made in the context of the recent global chip shortage, which has seriously affected many manufacturing sectors and business areas, prompting several countries to promote chip production as a national security measure. In this context, the group also asked to be assigned the tasks of ensuring national defense and security, promoting its strengths and demonstrating the pioneering role of state-owned companies in the fields of high-tech defense, construction and cyber security and safety. Army Games 2022 opens in Moscow
This year event drew the participation of 264 teams from 34 nations to compete in 34 events. Its competitions take place in 12 countries, namely Russia, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Iran, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, and Vietnam. It will last till August 27. This was the first time that the Army Games is held in Venezuela, a Latin American nation. The games also witness two new participating countries: Bolivia and Rwanda. Japan will give post-COVID-19 support to over 100 overseas Japanese-invested projects, including more than 40 in Vietnam, but the Southeast Asian country needs to overcome certain challenges facing them, a Japanese trade official said. Nobuyuki Matsumoto, chief representative of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO)’s Ho Chi Minh City Office, released the information at a press briefing held recently at the twin launch of the upcoming METALEX Vietnam Exhibition and Supporting Industry Exhibition 2022 in October this year. Vietnamese contingents’ activities in Army Games 2022
The first competition of the “Army of Culture” contingent of Vietnam took place at the Central House of the Russian Armed Forces named after Frunze. In this competition with nine rivals, the Vietnamese artists had the second musical instrument duet performance. In the afternoon the same day, there was a solo competition on the first work. The same day, at Forish training ground in Jizzakh province, Uzbekistan, the Field Kitchen contingent of the Vietnam People’s Army entered the shooting stage of the Field Kitchen event. Vietnam’s rivals are from Russia, Uzbekistan, Belarus and Tajikistan. The Field Kitchen event comprises of three competition stages of shooting in which the combat readiness posture of the cook is checked; cooking and baking of bakery products according to free recipe; and cooking and baking according to the menu. N.A. Standing Committee discusses revisions to consumer protection law
Submitting the draft revised law, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien said the amendments aim to protect consumer rights, address shortcomings in the 2010 law, and help improve people’s quality of life and boost socio-economic development. He noted the draft, consisting of seven chapters with 80 articles, is based on the fundamental articles of the current law and conforms with the existing legal system as well as international treaties to which Vietnam is a party. Presenting a verification report, Le Quang Huy, Chairman of the N.A.’s Committee for Science, Technology and Environment, agreed on the need to revise the law, noting it is necessary to pay attention to growing new models of business and consumption, the protection of human rights under the Constitution 2013, coordination among authorities and the engagement of private parties in protecting consumers, along with rising violations of consumer rights.
