Ben Hoang Nguyen, a Vietnamese American from Las Vegas, Nevada, the U.S. created an online platform that helps connect students with employers in their local communities. Nguyen, a teacher at Sunrise Mountain High School in Las Vegas, Nevada brought home a grand prize of US$200,000 from The Big Idea Challenge: A Competition for Educational Innovation hosted by Nevada-based nonprofits The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education and The Engelstad Foundation. "This was an incredible experiment that gave everyone the opportunity to come forward to make things better," Kris Engelstad, a trustee of the Engelstad Foundation, wrote on The Big Idea Challenge website. The Da Nang flower street stretches more than 300 meters from the west bank of the Han River to the APEC Park. Along a section on the west bank of the Han River near the end of the Dragon Bridge, there are statues of traditional and modern cats with many postures and expressions. Vietnamese developers recently brought ‘Hera’ - an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed by a Vietnamese startup – on a tour in the U.S. where they showed potential partners just how impressive Vietnamese tech had become. Despite it being small enough to fit into a backpack, Hera can carry up to 15 kilograms and be assembled in just a few minutes. The very first order Hera is the brainchild of Vietnamese engineer, Dr. Luong Viet Quoc, the founder and CEO of Vietnam-based RealTime Robotics Inc. (RtR). Japanese groups to pour hundreds of millions into projects in Quang Ninh Notably, the Tenma group from Japan has plans to invest $150 million in a factory to produce plastic injection moulds in the province. Hirohiko Hirono, CEO of Tenma, explained that the factory is planned to cover an area of 18 hectares in Song Khoai Industrial Park (IP). Within the framework of the meeting with leaders of Quang Ninh People’s Committee, Hitoshi Kimura, managing director of Castem Co., shared the plan to develop a $14 million metal casting factory which will cover an area of two hectares.
