Pham Thi Minh Phi, who won the Miss Philanthropy title in the Miss Vietnam Business 2022 contest held in Da Nang, was arrested by Lam Dong police on Wednesday to be investigated for obtaining property by fraud. In October 2022, a man in Da Lat of Lam Dong called Phi, requesting her cooperation to raise capital together and do business. Phi, the general director of the Moc Hoa trade and service company, said she was negotiating to buy two land plots, spanning 1.7 ha in total, at VND22 billion. She said she had found a buyer, who was willing to buy the land plots at VND23.6 billion. This would mean profit of VND1.6 billion. More than 700 billion THB of the total will be fresh borrow ing to finance the budget deficit, and about 1.7 trillion THB will be earmarked for refinancing and restructuring existing debts . About half of the funding sought will be raised through government bond sales, while the rest will be financed via treasury bills, savings bonds, bond switches and promissory notes. The government plans to sell up to 272 billion THB of government bonds in the last quarter of this year. Vietnam sees sharp hike in petrol prices
The retail prices of fuel products in Vietnam were revised upward starting from 4:00 pm on Thursday, with each liter of the popular RON95 gasoline soaring nearly VND900 (US$0.03), according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Biofuel RON92 now sells for VND24,190 ($0.99) per liter, up around VND720 ($0.02), while the popular RON95 rose by VND870 ($0.33) per liter to VND25,740 ($1.05) from VND24,871 ($1.02). The prices of oil products were also adjusted up. Diesel oil is offered at VND23,590 ($0.97) per liter, up VND540 ($0.02). The price of kerosene is capped at VND23,810 ($0.97) per liter, rising VND630 ($0.02) while that of heavy fuel oil is VND17,840 ($0.73) per kilogram, inching up VND140.
