Environment ministry urged to accelerate digital transformation

The PM made the statement while addressing a Hanoi ceremony to celebrate MoNRE’s 20th anniversary (August 5, 2002 - 2022) where he presented the ministry with a first-class Labour Order. He urged the ministry to complete and put into use a centralized, multi-purpose, integrated and interconnected national database on land by 2025 at the latest. The ministry must also enhance the efficiency of the management and use of natural resources while addressing issues related to land and mining management and effectively responding to decline and depletion of water resources to maintain water security, he added. It must also develop a mechanism for sharing resources and resolving disputes in trans-boundary water management and use, particularly along Mekong and Red Rivers, the PM said. 10 years of conservation: how many tigers left in the wild in Vietnam?

According to conservationists, there are only about five tigers recorded in the wild in Vietnam. However, individuals and businesses are seeing booming activities of tiger farming for non-commercial purposes, with the number of registered captive ones increasing year by year. Vietnam seeks ways to boost competitiveness of tourism

Forest covers 42.02% of Vietnam’s total area by end of 2021

The total area of forest meeting standards for calculating forest cover was 13,923,108ha, resulting in a percentage of forest cover of 42.02%. Vietnam boosts agro-tourism model

Hanoi provides employment assistance for over 137,000 workers

Hanoi will continue supporting workers by helping them access loans and training to improve their vocational skills. Over 137,000 jobs were created in Hanoi in the first seven months of 2022, representing 85.8% of the annual plan and an increase of 23.2% year-on-year, according to the municipal Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs. In July alone, Hanoi found jobs for more than 18,400 workers, providing job counseling to 7,200 people and supporting vocational training for 101 people with a total amount of VND443 million (nearly US$19,000), the department said.
