According to conservationists, there are only about five tigers recorded in the wild in Vietnam. However, individuals and businesses are seeing booming activities of tiger farming for non-commercial purposes, with the number of registered captive ones increasing year by year. Conservation efforts Yet, five is the figure projected by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) on the basis of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)’s estimates as of 2015. (Photo: V NA) Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam had 14,745,201ha of forest area, of which 10,171,757 ha are natural forests and 4,573,444 ha are planted ones, including open canopy forests, as of December 1, 2021, according to a decision announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development . The total area of forest meeting standards for calculating forest cover was 13,923,108ha, resulting in a percentage of forest cover of 42.02%. In the decision, the ministry assigned the Administration of Forestry to establish a national forest resources database . Hanoi provides employment assistance for over 137,000 workers
Hanoi will continue supporting workers by helping them access loans and training to improve their vocational skills. Over 137,000 jobs were created in Hanoi in the first seven months of 2022, representing 85.8% of the annual plan and an increase of 23.2% year-on-year, according to the municipal Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs. In July alone, Hanoi found jobs for more than 18,400 workers, providing job counseling to 7,200 people and supporting vocational training for 101 people with a total amount of VND443 million (nearly US$19,000), the department said. From daily, online, themed and mobile job boards in districts across the city, 1,900 people have been hired. In addition, 12,100 people have been sent to work abroad.
