Bangkok (VNA) - The Thai government has advised people to wear masks when going out and consider working from home on February 2 and 3 to avoid PM2.5 fine dust pollution, which is currently at a dangerously high level. The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) forecasts PM2.5 levels will rise across much of the country on the two days as the fine-dust pollution accumulates in stagnant air. PM2.5 has been linked with heart and lung diseases as well as cancer. According to government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri , Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha is concerned about people’s health, especially those of vulnerable groups, and advises them to wear sanitary or N95 masks when leaving the house, and to avoid prolonged outdoor activities. FDI to Vietnam’s real estate rises by over 70% in 2022
Vietnam's real estate market continues to show strong appeal to foreign investors despite global economic difficulties. The foreign direct investment (FDI) into Vietnam’s real estate market in 2022 rose by over 70% yearly to US$4.45 billion, focusing on industrial and large-scale commercial projects, according to the Ministry of Construction (MoC). Defense leader checks Division 308’s preparations for welcoming new recruits
During the visit, Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San checked accommodation and logistic supplies of the unit for new recruits while touring gardens and breeding grounds of Regiment 102 of the division. Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City record highest disbursement of public investment capital in January
In January, an estimated 27 trillion VND from the State budget was disbursed, including 4.2 trillion VND managed by the State, or 3.1% of the annual plan and up 15.7% compared to the same period last year. The remainder was managed by local authorities, equivalent to 4.2% of the annual plan and marking a rise of 1.2% over the corresponding period of 2022. The total capital investment plan for 2022 from the state budget approved by the National Assembly was over 580 trillion VND, including more than 276 trillion VND from the State and the remaining from localities. By December 31 last year, the disbursement of the investment plan from the state budget was estimated at over 435.6 trillion VND, or 75.11% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister, lower than the 77.3% recorded in the same period of 2021, yet the absolute figure of the disbursement in 2022 was more than 79 trillion VND higher than the same period of 2021, according to the Finance Ministry. Buddhist artifacts make nationwide tour
The Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center in Hue City Hundreds of monks, nuns and Buddhists as well as pilgrims have travelled to the Dieu Quang Pagoda in the central province of Khanh Hoa 's Nha Trang City to view 38 Buddhist sarira on display. Said to be the crystallised remains from the cremated Buddha's physical body, Buddha sarina were placed in small glass-towers for worshipping. Gas cylinder explodes on ship in Quang Ninh, injuring eight
A sudden gas cylinder explosion occurred on a ship which was being repaired in the northern province of Quang Ninh, injuring eight workers. The incident occurred at around 8:45 am this morning when the vessel Oriental Glory was being repaired at Nosco Shipyard. The ship belongs to the Hanoi-based Phuong Dong Shipping and Trading JS Company. The ship where the incident happened The gas cylinder explosion affected eight workers from Nosco ShipYard aged between 34 and 47. Right after the incident Cao Tuong Huy, the Managing Chairman of the Quang Ninh People’s Committee instructed local concerned agencies to investigate the cause of the explosion. A French passenger was handed back a coat which contained EUR2,300 (USD2,530) that he had left at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi. On January 30, the man had left his coat at the airport’s Terminal 1 after finishing his check-in procedures for budget carrier VietJet Air’s flight VJ513 to the central city of Danang. The French passenger has been handed back his coat which contained EUR2,300 (USD2,530) A female staff member from Ha Linh Services JS Company found the coat and reported the problem to the airport’s security. Meanwhile, the French passenger informed the airline that he had lost his coat. On the same day, he received his coat with the money in from the airport’s security.
