The contest aims to raise awareness and provide plastic waste management tools for tourism businesses, state management agencies as well as residential communities; and offer solutions and initiatives to limit the impact of plastic waste on tourism activities. Organisations and Vietnam ese individuals living in the country are eligible to participate in the contest , with entries sent to the organising board before November 10. The organising board will present one first prize worth 40 million VND (1,640 USD), one second and several consolation prizes. Defense Minister meets with Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund delegation
At the meeting, the fund’s chairwoman Truong My Hoa, who is the former Vice State President, stressed that the significant and practical care and support from the Ministry of National Defense over the past years have helped the fund to develop strongly and spread in the society. Vietnam creates best conditions for foreign NGOs
Foreign NGOs are also ambassadors who help spread the image of Vietnam and the Vietnamese to the world. The Vietnamese Government has asked ministries, departments and localities to create the best conditions for foreign non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to operate effectively and stably, Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc told a conference on September 28. As head of the Working Committee on Foreign NGOs, Deputy Minister Ngoc stressed that foreign NGO affairs are an important part of Vietnam's development and foreign policies. "The Vietnamese Government has been paying attention to foreign NGO affairs in order to perfect legal regulations and policies in this field. Vietnam is lacking in green buildings: construction official
Vietnam is home to over 300 green buildings, but that figure is much lower than the country's potential, according to a construction official at the Vietnam Green Building Week 2023. Themed 'Green Building Development Promotes Green Transformation in Construction Industry: Opportunities and Challenges,' the event was held by the Ministry of Construction in coordination with other units on Thursday in Ho Chi Minh City, Speaking at the event, Nguyen Tuong Van, Deputy Minister of Construction, said that state management agencies have encouraged businesses to develop green buildings on a voluntary basis and Vietnam has yet to introduce mandatory regulations on green building development. Currently, the country is home to about 300 green buildings with a combined floor space area of 7.2 million square meters. Singaporean young officers visit Coast Guard Region 2 Command
The delegation consisted of a defense attaché from the Singaporean Embassy in Vietnam and ten officers representing the Navy, the Air Force, and the Army of Singapore. During the visit, the Singaporean young officers were briefed by Senior Colonel Tran Hong Que, Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 2, on the functions and responsibilities of the Vietnam Coast Guard, as well as the development and significant achievements of Coast Guard Region 2 over the past 20 years. According to Senior Colonel Tran Hong Que, in recent years, the unit has conducted inspections, apprehensions, and legal proceedings related to illegal trading and transportation of oil and petroleum products at sea in accordance with Vietnamese law.
