Volatile real estate market puts pressure on business results

Phat Dat Real Estate Development Joint Stock Company (PDR) reported net revenue of 14.6 billion VND (622,600 USD) in the last three months of 2022, a sharp decrease compared to the 1.29 trillion VND recorded in the fourth quarter of 2021. The company suffered an after-tax loss of 229.4 billion VND in Q4 of 2022, while in the same period in 2021, it reported a net profit of 751.4 billion VND. This was considered Phat Dat's "failure" quarter as the company reported a loss for the first time since it announced business results. The VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) closed the last trading day of the week at 1,077.15 points, a fall of 0.44 points, or 0.04 per cent. The market’s breadth was neutral as the number of declining stocks on the southern bourse was equal to increasing ones. Liquidity fell over the previous session. Of which, trading value on HoSE reduced slightly to nearly VND10.8 trillion (US$460.1 million), equivalent to a trading volume of over 563.7 million shares. Vietnam’s trade with India hits record in 2022
During the year, Vietnam’s exports to India topped 7.9 billion USD, up nearly 27% year-on-year. Among its export items , mobile phones and accessories posted the highest turnover with 1.5 billion USD. Computers, electronics and parts came next, and they were followed by machinery and equipment. Other staples with the highest value increase were coffee, iron and steel and footwear. Meanwhile, Vietnam imported over 7 billion worth of goods from India last year, a yearly hike of 2%. U.S. FDA says India-made eye drop linked to some infections, blindness and one death
NEW DELHI -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned against using an eye drop made in India that has been linked to the outbreak of a drug-resistant bacteria leading to adverse events in at least 55 patients in the United States including infections, blindness and one death. The agency said on Thursday that Artificial Tears eye drop manufactured by India's Global Pharma Healthcare Pvt Ltd has a potential bacterial contamination and the company has violated current good manufacturing practices. Global Pharma Healthcare, based in the southern city of Chennai, said on Wednesday it had issued a voluntary recall at the consumer level of unexpired lots of the eye drop, which was distributed in the United States by EzriCare LLC and Delsam Pharma.
